Regular Mowing encourages lateral growth of the lawn, prevents scalping and thatch build up. Preferably done at least once a week during the growing season.
Lawns in Perth require even coverage of at least 10mm (15 mm in summer) of water 2 times a week. Any more water that this and its often wasted and if watered more frequently it will result in limited root growth.
Perth's sandy soils are typically low on organic matter and hydrophobic. A good quality wetting agent will break the surface tension allowing water to reach the roots and retain it there.
Perth soils are lacking essential nutrients lawns require. A quality granular fertiliser applied a few time a year keeps your lawn fed.
Kelp Increases root growth in turf. Improves overall appearance in colour, turf density, and hardiness. Enhances natural resistance to stresses such as disease, drought, and insect pressures .
These acids work best in the soil where they can work as chelating agents to unlock nutrients and bind to them, making the nutrients in available forms for plants to uptake. Humic acid can also stimulate root and shoot growth, stimulate the microbial activity in soil, and improve the soil structure.
Core aeration fixes issues caused by soil compaction and enables air and water to get to the roots.
Thatch build up over time can suffocate the lawn preventing air and water from reaching the roots. De-thatching will help to remove the layer of thatch so that air and nutrients can reach your soil base and can more effectively feed your lawn.
